Lofted Cabin FAQ

There isn’t just one way to turn a shed into a portable cabin. You will need to comply with the local building regulations, but other than that the options are endless.

Portable cabins are a great place for a getaway, as you can put them wherever you would like without making it something permanent and they are reasonably cheap too.

A portable cabin can be a huge investment, and if your credit is low, that makes it even more difficult. However, with rent to own, you can finance your portable cabin with no credit check!

Although the cost is cheaper to build your own portable cabin, buying the shed is better bang for your buck. This is because the quality of a professionally built shed will be higher than a kit; shed builders buy in bulk, which saves money. Other things to take into consideration are your time and the hassle of trying to build one yourself. By purchasing through a quality-built shed company you can spend your time elsewhere and save yourself a hassle, while getting top-notch quality!

It is certainly safe to sleep in a shed, assuming you have heat for the winter and so forth. Countryside Barns can finish out a shed just like a house, so it’s super safe!

Certainly – the lofts in the portable cabin are a great place for extra sleeping room. Because of the short head height, it does work best for children though instead of adults.

At Countryside Barns, we strive to build the highest quality lofted cabin for our customers at an affordable price. We handle the whole process – from ordering to manufacturing to delivery and installation.

Brian Koppenhoefer

I have two buildings from Countryside Barns on my property. The first one is a lofted garden shed purchased a delivered in 2016. The second is a garage purchased in 2023. The second was originally going to be a small 8’X12’ garden shed. Due to a variance requirement with the city, I was not able to place the small garden shed in the respectable place I selected on my property. Countryside Barns was understanding, I put a halt on the order 6 days after placing it. Thank you, Jessica! I selected a new location on my property and was able to go bigger 14’X32’. I also decided to go with a portable garage vs a garden shed. With a copy of the approved permit and my down payment I signed the contract. With both buildings I have had a few issues but they were taken care of. EDIT: Photos are from months later, they did not install rock, landscaping, gutters, concrete, or electrical.

These guys were great. Communication was top notch from start to finish. They responded very fast when I had any questions. The price is perfect for their quailty.. And above all their Mule thing they use to move the sheds is a event in itsekf. Great company and great people. 👍

Jesse & Erin Rieker

Great to work with! We love our shed!

John Streit

Highly recommended. Our new shed fits nicely with our renovated space and looks great. The design process was easy and ended up being just what we wanted. I appreciate the craftsmanship and attention to detail, and we are sure to get many years of use out of it. It’s great to work with local businesses.

Darcy Newell

Both the product and the installation process exceeded all expectations! Everything was done exactly when they said it would be, and the quality of construction is exceptional. Patrick made the delivery and checked leveling very carefully and even took the time to add a couple bumpers to the door and touch up paint on the base or at a tiny scratch from installation. This shed is certainly built to last!

Marco

I had the pleasure of working with Brian, and I couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome of my experience! From the design of our shed to the seamless delivery, everything exceeded my expectations!
